In 2024, Dairy Concepts IRL reduced general and food waste intensity, exceeding the target milestones by 46.6% and 48%, respectively.

Dairy Concepts IRL made strong progress in 2024 toward its waste reduction goals, achieving notable improvements in both general and food waste intensity. General waste per unit of output decreased significantly from 0.175 t/t in 2023 to 0.064 t/t in 2024, outperforming the milestone target by 46.6%.

Several initiatives contributed to this success. The team received training on identifying suitable materials for recycling steam, and internal procedures were revised to further reduce general waste. These actions helped embed waste-conscious practices across the organisation, supporting long-term sustainability.

A key factor in the reduction was the company’s significant increase in overall output. With higher production volumes, Dairy Concepts IRL was able to carry out more efficient packaging changeovers. This operational improvement reduced material waste during transitions and remains a continued area of focus for the business.
