About the Horticulture Industry Forum

The Horticulture Industry Forum (HIF) is the national umbrella organisation representing Irish fresh produce and amenity growers.

Formed in 2014 following an industry-wide consultation, HIF now brings together growers from across seven core sectors: Field Vegetables; Mushrooms; Soft Fruit; Top Fruit; Protected Crops; Potatoes; Amenity.

HIF works closely with government, retailers, policy makers and state agencies to ensure Ireland has a sustainable horticulture sector that provides high-quality, healthy produce for consumers at home and abroad.

Our Mission

We champion the interests of Irish horticulture by:

  • Representing growers with one strong, unified voice

  • Engaging with policy makers on the challenges facing the sector

  • Supporting innovation, sustainability and long-term growth

  • Raising awareness of the economic and health benefits of Irish produce

  • Leading the implementation of the National Strategy for Horticulture 2023-2027
