Origin Green is Ireland's pioneering food and drink sustainability programme, operating on a national scale, uniting government, the private sector and the full supply chain from farmers to food producers and right through to the foodservice and retail sectors. The programme is the worlds only national food and drink sustainability programme, and enables the industry to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets that respect the environment and serve local communities more effectively.

Couverture Desserts

At Couverture we understand that quality pâtisserie doesn't happen overnight. There is a fine art to creating delicious desserts, and for over 20 years we have supplied our award-winning products to leading retailers, restaurants, airlines and hotels around the world. Using only the finest ingredients including locally-sourced Irish dairy, each Couverture dessert is handcrafted by skilled pâtissiers in our new, purpose-built facilities. A focus on health & nutrition has inspired us to lead the way with a new range of low sugar, high protein and vegan products, continuing our commitment to innovate in the dessert & bakery category.Whether it's a cheesecake, gateaux, mousse, brownie or millionaire's shortbread, our wide range is always growing. Not just keeping ahead of the trends but driving them, we believe that outstanding desserts require outstanding passion.

Glendalough Irish Whiskey

Glendalough Distillery was started by a few of friends from Wicklow and Dublin. They convinced eachother to leave the safety of their day jobs in the city, and head for the Wicklow Mountains to do something more meaningful - much like the man on their bottle, St Kevin. With a portfolio of different varieties of whiskey, gin, and poitín, some made from fresh wild ingredients, they have a craft spirit to suit every taste.

Blacks of Kinsale

Blacks of Kinsale is an Irish microbrewery and craft distillery founded in May 2013 by husband-and-wife team, Sam and Maudeline Black. A passion for brewing began several years earlier when Maudeline gave Sam a home fermenting kit for Valentine's Day. What started as a hobby quickly developed into an obsession. Through Sam's passion and enthusiasm Blacks of Kinsale became a reality, spawning its slogan 'Living the Dream Since 2013'.

Tesco is one of Ireland's leading retailers with 151 stores and two distribution centres nationwide. As a leading food retailer, Tesco is one of the biggest private sector employers in Ireland employing over 13,000 colleagues across the country. We are committed to achieving maximum sustainability in all our operations and we continue to work to integrate sustainability into all aspects of our business. Being a sustainable business is very important to us and we're proud to support the communities in which we serve. In becoming a member of Origin Green, Tesco has set out a sustainability plan that targets key operational, sourcing, health and nutrition and social responsibility targets. In committing to the Origin Green sustainability charter the structure provides meaningful goals which are independently verified on an ongoing basis.

A family business since 1876, Musgrave has always had a strong commitment to sustainability. More recently we have led the way in being the first company in Ireland to embed the UN's Sustainable Development Goals into our sustainability strategy and the first food retail and wholesale group to become a verified member of the Origin Green sustainability programme. Belview Egg Farm Ltd

Established in 1978 by Dermot & Nicola Herlihy, Belview Egg Farm is located in Termonfeckin, Co Louth. Starting with a mere 5,000 hens, the company is now the fourth largest packer of eggs in Ireland, having 26 laying houses between Louth and Monaghan, which are all certified through the Bord Bia Sustainable Egg Assurance Scheme (SEAS). Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the company recently constructed Ireland's largest free range hen house on a 168-acre site. Belview Eggs' mission is to produce, grade, pack and sell Class A eggs whilst adhering to the highest quality standards.

Folláin

Folláin Teoranta was established in 1983 by Mairín and Peadar Uí Lionáird in partnership with Eithne Uí Shiadhail in the Lionáird's home kitchen. There, they began making what would become award winning preserves using 100% natural ingredients and have been going from strength to strength ever since. Mairín and Peadar still pride themselves on maintaining that homemade quality. Over the years Folláin has increased its range from sweet fruit preserves to include a savoury line of relishes, chutneys, salsas and sauces, innovative no added sugar ranges including jams and marmalades range, as well as no added sugar or salt relish ranges. These developments show a company dynamism and responsiveness to consumer demand whilst maintaining steadfast in its dedication to the use of only natural ingredients.

Kepak Group

Kepak is one of Ireland's leading meat producers with 12 manufacturing facilities across Ireland and the UK, employing over 4,500 people with a turnover of €1.5bn. Meat craft and sustainability are key pillars of the company's heritage, which has grown from humble beginnings as a butcher shop founded in Dublin's Liberties in 1979. For over 50 years, farmers have trusted Kepak to process and market their livestock in a respectful way. Kepak believe that sustainability should not be a sideline effort. It should be part of everything it does, a way of doing the job every day. As a founding member of Origin Green, Kepak acknowledge that there has never been a more crucial time to act against climate change. As a business, Kepak commits to working with industry peers to ensure it minimises its impact on the environment, whilst safeguarding animal welfare and producer livelihoods.
